10 Jan 2008 | RCVS Inspection

We have received our RCVS Practice Standards inspection by an external examiner, and have retained our RCVS Accredited Practice status. In addition to our Small Animal accreditation we have now received approval on the Farm and Equine sides of the practice. All of our staff are very proud of what this means, and that they have been recognised for all of their efforts. As part of a group of veterinary practices in the South West we have secured funding for farm herd health planning and advice. Our dairy farming clients interested in this should contact the surgery.

18 May 2007 | EquiPlan

EquiPlan was launched at a client meeting last night, and was very well received. It builds on our successful Wellness Plans for dogs and cats by providing a structured health management plan for your horse. More details are available from the practice, and forms will be available on the website soon.

01 May 2007 | PetPorte cat flaps

A company in Guernsey has managed to design and make one of the most obvious solutions to controlling your cat's entry and exit from the house. The PetPorte catflap is able to detect the microchip within your cat (the ones used for identification purposes) and only lets in the cats you choose. It can be programmed for up to 12 animals and you can check to see if it will work with your cat by putting in the chip number HERE. No more cat fights at 3am as the local tom cat does the rounds ! The flap is available for £95 inc VAT from any of our surgeries. More information is available at the PetPorte website.

We are pleased to have raised £300 for this years Children in Need appeal. All of our surgeries held a nurseathon event giving free advice to our clients on a range of subjects in return for donations. Photos will follow soon.

03 Jun 2006 | New Ambulance

We have now replaced our old ambulance with a new vehicle. The old vehicle has served us well over the last 7 years.  We use it for moving animals between surgeries for treatment, as well as for making internal deliveries. It is easy to spot and is slightly bigger to enable us to carry more animals in greater comfort  - click HERE for a picture

01 Jun 2006 | Warminster building work


We will be enlarging the Warminster surgery operating and Kennelling facilities starting this month, to cater for our increased work throughput. Most of the work will be to the side of the building and unlike the Trowbridge work it should have minimal effect on our day to day service.

21 May 2006 | Trowbridge surgery open day

There was an open day at the Trowbridge surgery on Sunday 21st May. There were a range of displays and games for young and old as well as a tour of the surgery and despite the weather the event was a great success. The answers to the Large Animal quiz are HERE

22 Apr 2006 | Sarah Adamson VN wins major award

The Head Nurse at Frome has just won a prestigious national award for excellence in pet health care. Sarah won the Royal Canin Pet Health Counsellor award for 2006 for which the prize was a luxury holiday and an engraved bracelet. We are tremendously proud and pleased of what Sarah has achieved for herself and the practice. To help raise money for Children in Need several members of staff 'volunteered' to be gunged today.  Jenny Beck in Trowbridge had the idea and was overwhelmed by volunteers !! This is the first picture but there are more to follow of other victims. Guy Parkinson and John Gould are seen here desperately looking for a caption competition !! We are pleased to say that we raised over £300 in total
